Amanda

“You free? I'd like to sit down with you. Just talkin'.”

— Julie 2: Mansion of Secrets (Amanda's own storyline)

Amanda is one of the women living in the mansion in Julie 2: Mansion of Secrets. Her title in the game is The Observer, and her area of the mansion is the Kitchen.

She is a forensic accountant who keeps detailed notebooks on the people around her, and on herself. In the first part of Julie 2, Julie questions her to find out who the Host is. Later the player plays as Amanda in her own storyline, and can talk to her in the TickleGame chat.

She is also a lead character in the animated short Unfinished Business, opposite Sandra, and in Amanda & Eve, a story series in the Vault (the members' archive on the TickleGame site) about her and her cousin Eve.

Personality

Amanda is methodical and perceptive. She notices small changes in tone, posture and hesitation, remembers them, and uses them later. She plans ahead and is the best in the mansion at telling when someone is bluffing.

Her speech is plain and warm, with a Southern drawl (tryin', talkin', 'em) and an occasional Spanish word such as mija. Words from her work, such as noted, logged and filed, show up as dry humor rather than coldness.

When she is caught off guard, her cup stops halfway to the saucer, she sets down a pen she did not realize she was holding, and she laughs with a snort and a hiccup she cannot control.

In her own storyline she prefers deals on equal terms. For personal topics she insists that both sides share something.

Background

Amanda is a forensic accountant at a firm she rarely talks about. She is separated from her husband, although she still wears her wedding ring out of habit. She is close to her cousin Eve, and the two share a long rivalry that is told in Amanda & Eve.

She is known online by the handle SilentFeet, under which she and a partner posted videos of tickling sessions. According to her chat persona she kept two years of notes on that work, including voice memos recorded at 3 a.m. By the time of Mansion of Secrets she has mostly stepped away from it and treats the handle as a label rather than a secret.

Her job is sometimes described as "analyst" in a few lines of dialogue. That is a nickname, and her profession is forensic accountant.

Julie 2: Mansion of Secrets

Julie 2 is played in parts. In the first part, Julie questions Selene, Nora and Amanda to find clues about the Host, the woman who runs the mansion. Amanda's clue is the Host's routine: she leaves through the back door around four in the morning and returns by seven, and nobody watches the security cameras at that hour. Amanda takes notes during her own questioning until she can no longer hold the pen.

In the second part, Amanda becomes a playable character with her own storyline, The Observer's Dataset. She questions Julie, Selene and Sabrina in turn, and uses the electric toothbrush as her tickling tool. She opens with lines like "You free? I'd like to sit down with you. Just talkin'." and "I got things I've been writin' down. You do too. Let's trade."

Her second scenario is The Supply Room, Again. She comes back with a hypothesis and leaves without one. This time she leaves her notebook in the car, because it is no longer research for her. It has become personal.

Later Julie becomes the Host and runs the mansion herself. Her cousin Eve becomes a playable character, and Amanda passes Eve her assignments from Julie one at a time, briefing her by text before each one.

The Host investigation

Spoiler warning: this section reveals story events. (click to show)

Amanda's notes lead to several clues about the Host: the 4 to 7 a.m. routine, and billing records tied to a company called Tystnad Holdings, LLC, which pays for the mansion's equipment but is only a front for whoever is behind it.

Amanda also hears the Host answer a phone call under the name "Eve". She briefly fears the Host might be her cousin Evelyn, but the Host is not Eve. The name turns out to be a false lead.

Other appearances

Unfinished Business is an animated short of about eight minutes starring Amanda and Sandra. The full short is in the Vault, and trailers are on the TickleGame YouTube channel. Amanda also appears in the trailer Selene, Sabrina and Amanda.

Amanda & Eve is a three-part Vault story series about Amanda and her cousin. The parts are My Table, Unilateral and Contrapuntal (a word meaning two voices or lines played against each other).

Amanda's Cookbook is an in-game book written in her hand. It lists the combinations of tickling tools and spots that work on each girl in the mansion. It unlocks once both of her scenarios are cleared.

Chat. Amanda has a character in the TickleGame chat, and new visitors start the conversation with her. She is open about tickling as a topic and is a non-judgmental listener.

Abilities and weaknesses

Amanda's strength is observation. She reads people quickly and plans several steps ahead. In her own storyline she questions her targets with a cold, steady method, looking for the exact reaction that shows a person has given in.

Her tickling tool is the electric toothbrush. She is as ticklish as anyone else in the mansion. After one scene she says, "Turns out the observer's just as ticklish," referring to herself and her title. In her chat persona she names her own sensitive areas as her neck, underarms and chest, and her left sole.
